How competitions can help your business

Competitions can help raise the profile of your brand or business and they can be a very effective way of generating new sales and product trials. Competition responses offer an unparalleled means of rapidly expanding your customer database.

Australia Post's Competition MailTM can be a powerful incentive to choose mail as a medium of response:

§ a direct link to proof of purchase you can use to drive sales
§ entrants feel a sense of security dealing with the familiar medium of mail
§  the rebate can help to offset promotional costs

There are many types of competitions. The type you choose will of course depend on your marketing objectives. The following categories of competitions can utilise the mail as the response device:

§  Games of skill - a game that requires entrants to demonstrate a skill to enter the competition, such as drawing a picture.
§ Games of chance - a game that involves a chance element and draw, entrants are only required to provide their contact details on the entry device.

How it works for you

To be eligible to use Competition MailTM and receive a rebate your competition needs to:

§ be registered with the appropriate State and Territory Authorities, and have obtained relevant permits where required
§ be registered with Australia Post at least four (4) weeks before the promotion so mailed responses are directed to the competition address supplied
§ attract a minimum number of stamped entries

The minimum number of entries, and the rebate amount (up to 7.7c per item from Australia Post) depends on your location - please call 13 11 18 for details.
