Australia Post's Competition MailTM can be a powerful incentive to choose mail as a medium of response:

There are many types of competitions. The type you choose will of course depend on your marketing objectives. The following categories of competitions can utilise the mail as the response device:

Games of skill - a game that requires entrants to demonstrate a skill to enter the competition, such as drawing a picture. |

Games of chance - a game that involves a chance element and draw, entrants are only required to provide their contact details on the entry device. |
How it works for you
To be eligible to use Competition MailTM and receive a rebate your competition needs to:

be registered with the appropriate State and Territory Authorities, and have obtained relevant permits where required |
| § |
be registered with Australia Post at least four (4) weeks before the promotion so mailed responses are directed to the competition address supplied |
| § |
attract a minimum number of stamped entries |
The minimum number of entries, and the rebate amount (up to 7.7c per item from Australia Post) depends on your location - please call 13 11 18 for details.
Changed Conditions of Approval
You can now apply for and gain Competition Mail rebate approval on the basis that the State/Territory Permit is 'Pending'. More information available here (pdf file 24kb).
How to apply for Competition MailTM
Complete the Application for Competition MailTM (pdf file 54kb) and fax or post it to the address supplied in your state. (Details are included on the Application form).
Ensure the correctly formatted return address (supplied when your competition is approved) is included on all promotional materials. This assists with accurate and timely deliveries.
During the competition period Australia Post will regularly record the number of entries received and supply a written Delivery Record.
How to apply for the Rebate
When your competition closes, complete the 'Claim for Rebate' (pdf file 62kb) and send it with supporting evidence of the number of entries received (the Delivery Record provided by Australia Post) to the address supplied in your state. (Details are included on the Claim form.)
Following calculation of the rebate, you will be paid the value of the rebate by cheque or direct debit. Rebates cannot be credited to Australia Post Charge Accounts.
