Defence Mail

This service allows you to send mail to any member of the Defence Force within Australia or overseas.

Normal postal charges apply to articles being sent within Australia or internationally, except those addressed to HMA ships (irrespective of location), or an overseas Australian Forces Post Office (AFPO)*.

* See important note below regarding postage prices when sending mail to AFPOs.

Postage is assessed on the post office shown in the address.

Important Notes regarding Postage Pricing to Australian Forces Post Offices (AFPOs):

Free postage applies for all mail up to a cubed weight of 2kg to all AFPOs, with the exception of mail to AFPO2 (Malaysia).
For mail to AFPO2 (Malaysia), and mail over the 2kg cubed weight to all other AFPOs, Australian domestic rates of postage for the total item weight applies (calculated from the point of lodgement to Sydney).
The maximum weight for an item sent to APO15 is 2kg. Mail over 2kg will NOT be accepted in any circumstances. All mail over 2kg addressed to AFPO15 will not be forwarded but returned to the sender with a suitable endorsement (eg."This service is restricted to mail up to 2kg).
